HELLO THERE!
-Obi Wan Kenobi (Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith)
Joshua Zapf is an award-winning film and commercial editor who strives to craft together fantastical stories through the creation, selection, and manipulation of moving pictures, colors, and sounds. Or you could call him (me) a video editor, whichever you fancy. I’m also a writer, director, teacher, actor - I wear a lot of hats… metaphorically and literally.
I am an alumni of Savannah College of Art & Design where I majored in film and television and minored in Film Editing. Throughout my time at SCAD, I've had the pleasure of working on a multitude of different projects, including a murder mystery Duolingo spot that I wrote and edited which won a Gold Pencil at the Young Ones One Show. I am AVID certified and also have experience working in Davinci Resolve, Pro Tools, Premiere Pro, and Final Cut.
To me, editing is like building with Legos - there are thousands of possible ways to construct the story; I get the joy of choosing the best pieces to convey it clearly and successfully. With the stories I tell, I desire to give audiences something to believe in and connect to. Worlds that they can run away into. Lives that they can step into. I believe that everybody has a story that is worth telling and more importantly, one that is worth listening to.
